THE FIRST AND THE LAST
- Capitolo 1° -
I was not allowed to enter that room. My father didn’t want me to see his work papers that he kept inside, they were too important to be messed up by me.
I had discovered where he kept the keys, but I had never found the courage to use them. That day I found it. My father was in the office.
As I opened the door, suddenly a freezy air came to my face.
Inside there were no papers: 80 it seemed a cold store, there were animal meats hung to the ceiling! Trembling on my legs, I went through the fleshes...and I couldn’t believe to what I saw...it was her: my mother! She was frozen but I recognized her eyes staring at me.
Without closing the door, I ran out of the room and I went to the police station.
I didn’t manage to explain what had happened, I only said incoherent words like: he is a killer! He killed her! Why did he kill her? I hate him!
The police couldn’t understand me, fortunately one friend of mine worked there and he decided to follow me to the house. Another policeman came with us.
When we entered the room my mother’s body was not there.
My father was there instead. He had come back from work and had discovered the open door. He held a slaughter knife and he immediately killed the policeman. Then he told me: “I had advised you not to open the door” and I “Why did you kill her? I thought she had died in a car accident!” “why do you ask? Your mother just sacrified for our family: we needed money from assurance! We were starving!”.
Suddenly we heard a gun shot.
